Sweet and acidic food are considered harmful to dental health since they stick to teeth and cannot be easily cleaned. It is necessary to consume them in a certain amount to prevent tooth decay. Sweet, sticky or acidic foods should be consumed within three main meals.

Between meals, food such as apple and carrot that will clean hard teeth and massage the gums should be eaten. If it is not possible to brush your teeth after eating sweet, sticky food, the mouth should be rinsed with water or a glass of water should be consumed.

In the past, as harder foods were consumed, teeth were cleaned naturally. Today, with the development of the ready-made food industry, the production and consumption of sweet, refined and soft foods has also increased and tooth decay is more common. Proteins are considered tooth-friendly and they must be consumed for dental health both during the development of teeth and after the teeth erupt. In addition to its high protein content, cheese is a highly recommended food, especially after consuming sweet foods, due to its alkali nature which neutralises the acid left by the food.
