Dr. Umut Cakan was born in Edirne in 1976. He graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2000 and received a doctoral degree in Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Hacettepe University in 2006. Dr. Umut Cakan received the title of Associate Professor in the field of Prosthodontics in 2016 and Professor in 2021. Umut Cakan currently practices as a faculty member at Istanbul Health and Technology University. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals related to prosthodontics and implant dentistry.

His professional affiliations include International College of Prosthodontics, European Prosthodontic Association and Turkish Prosthodontics and Implantology Association.
